A soulful fragment of my imagination was brought to life through this Golden Bumble Bee.
I chose a soft floral cotton fabric to stitch on - a divine self expression of my affinity to flora and fauna. Stitched over 30 hours using silk cords, metallic wires and precious golden metals. I chose to add a pearlescent object for the thorax of the bee to pay homage to my love of pearls. Antique gold beads have been used for the eyes and the wings have been painstakingly stitched using fine gold threads.
Set in a 5’’ hoop that has been wrapped with frayed periwinkle blue linen.
Each embroidery is ceremoniously wrapped and packaged and is accompanied with care instructions. I hope this piece goes to a collector who also has a deep affinity to nature
